Frequently Asked Questions
What is Delta-8-THC
Delta-8 THC is one of the hundreds of cannabinoids naturally produced in cannabis. It appears in very small doses, which is why processors must extract and concentrate it into oils, edibles, tinctures, and other concentrates. Similar to other cannabinoids, Delta-8 THC interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system. Like Delta-9 THC, Delta-8 has an affinity towards CB1 receptors in the brain and nervous system, which it binds with to produce psychotropic effects. Despite some chemical differences between the two, Delta-8 interacts with the body in almost the same way as Delta-9 when concentrated.
Is High Gear Delta-8-THC synthetic?
High Gear CBD Delta 8 is NOT a synthetic such as "spice" or "K2"
Education is KEY to understanding our Delta-8-THC production.
It's made from 100% 50 State Legal Hemp. Something that is a synthetic doesnt start off as a natural biological compound. Synthetic by definition means the opposite!
Delta 8 is ultimately created using hemp and/or cannabis plants, it’s a pretty simple reaction to get Hemp to Delta-8. SEE "How is Delta-8 extract made?" question below
"To extract Delta 8 from our USA grown hemp, we start with the plant and it’s truly a pretty simple set of steps that give you a final product that has no known negative side effects by correctly dosed daily use and that is derived soley from the cannabis plant.
Look at the chemical structure of Delta 8, and Delta 9.
Very minimal changes thus the two will act similarly.
Look at any synthetic cannabinoid, JWH018, ab-fubinica, ur-144 to name a few of several hundred. A lot of these aren’t even based on THC itself, and act on a variety of different receptors often to an extreme extent.
Synthetic cannabinoids are essentially just whatever substance has been reported to work on the cannabinoid receptors, regardless of safety concerns. When used correctly, Delta 8 is less potent than Delta 9 so it’s easy to dose for those familiar"
The chemicals found in "spice" are entirely synthetics and lab made.
Synthetic "spice" has NO cannabis, hemp, or CBD isolate in it, nor is it made from it. Nothing that originally came from cannabis, is found in sythetics like "spice".
They do NOT use hemp or cannabis to create the harmful chemicals in "spice".
Since day one High Gear CBD has sourced the highest grade, purest, most bioavailable extracts available on the USA market. We have only sold organic friendly products and we would never sell a sythetic product.

How is Delta 8 extract made?
High Gear Delta-8-THC is made by taking the dried cannabis flower and applying expert extraction, isolation, conversion, and refinement methods to yield small concentrations of the compound.
Utilizing something called fractional distillation using cultivated hemp flowers and trimmings.
In this very intricate process, various changes in temperature, vacuums, and scientific equipment convert the more prevalent Delta 9 THC into the more subdued, less psychoactive Delta 8 THC compound. This elaborate process allows scientists to yield a more bountiful amount of Delta 8 THC for your enjoyment.
How is our Delta 8 THC legal?
Our Hemp-derived Δ8THC, is naturally extracted in the USA from hemp grown in the USA.
This makes it compliant with the Farm Bill of 2018. SEE Delta-8 Legal Info page on our website for full, law group approved explanation.
Can Delta-8-THC get you high like Delta-9-THC?
Delta-8 will certainly get you high, but not necessarily like Delta-9 THC.
According to the National Cancer Institute, Delta-8 THC exhibits “lower psychotropic potency” than Delta-9 and might bind with brain’s receptors differently than Delta-9, thereby explaining the variation of effects.
As such, consumers have reported feeling less intense psychoactive effects with Delta-8 THC. But still very noticeable.
Delta-8 users experience appetite stimulation, and euphoria–just not as intensely as they do from THC.
Does Hemp Derived Delta-8-THC Show Up On A Drug Screening?
You naturally produce THC in your body through the Endocannabinoid System.
Drug screenings test for the natural level that occurs in your body. When you consume a product that contains THC, those levels can be elevated above the natural level and can pull a false positive.
Everyone metabolizes and stores THC differently than the next person.
There are no guarantees that you will pass a drug screening if a product contains THC.
What are the reported benifits of Delta 8 THC?
Famed cannabis researcher, Dr. Raphael Mechoulam discovered Delta-8 in 1965. Scientists have been experimenting with the compound ever since.
In 1975, researchers found that Delta-8 could shrink cancerous tumors in rats. In 1995, Israeli scientists discovered Delta-8 could profoundly affect pediatric cancer treatment.
After administering over 480 treatments of high-dose Delta-8 THC, 100% of patients reported feeling relief from chemotherapy-induced nausea.
On a cognitive level, consumers have reported feeling a high similar to Delta-9 THC but with a few key differences: Unlike Delta-9, which can produce a sedative effect, Delta-8 is more associated with clear-headed and energized feelings.
This has huge implications for patients and consumers who like the psychoactive and healing benefits of THC, but also want to function with more energy and clarity during the day.
Studies also suggest that Delta-8 could help the body produce a neurotransmitter that’s responsible for cognition, memory, arousal, and neuroplasticity.
Although research has been limited due to the prohibition of cannabis, what we know about Delta-8 is exciting for processors, manufacturers, patients and recreational users.
As more people report a positive experience with Delta-8, we may see more products flood the market along with a marked shift in consumer behavior.
